Holderlin, Hegel, Schelling

These three nineteenth century German writers and philosophers were students together. The stone commemorates the day they jointly planted a Tree of Liberty, in celebration of the French Revolution. The stone is placed at the foot of a grove of trees at the east entrance to the garden.
